Prince – femural fracture Salter-Harris I

Prince is yet another stray kitten rescued and adopted from the streets thanks to the “Sharo Foundation” He first came to the clinic as a kitten for initial treatment, vaccinations, and to get a passport made. Unfortunately, almost a year later, he had to visit the clinic again—this time for a broken leg. Prince had run away from home and returned a few hours later limping, in severe pain, and with a swollen hind leg.

We admitted him to the clinic as an emergency case, presenting with labored breathing, pain, and a swollen hind leg. After mild sedation, we took X-rays and diagnosed him with a fracture commonly seen in growing cats —specifically, a Salter-Harris Type I fracture of the femur. Prince was stabilized and underwent surgery the following day, performed by Dr. Kostadinov.

The surgery and recovery went smoothly, and a month later, Prince visited us for a check-up and X-ray, which showed that he was free to run and play.
